Amgen cycling tour speeds past Solvang

The Amgen Tour of California professional cycling race would normally pass through Solvang this weekend, as it has for the past three years. This year, the city was not chosen to host the 2010 race and that has a big economic impact.
It's the largest cycling event in America and usually draws thousands of people to the area, which translates into thousands of tourism dollars for Solvang. The local organizing committee says it will try to get the race again next year.
