RENO, Nev. (AP) - Another lawsuit has been filed over the Amtrak crash in Nevada that left six dead after a truck slammed into the passenger train more than a week ago.
26-year-old Lana Dickerson of Worth, Ill., is the second Amtrak attendant to file a suit accusing the Jim Davis Trucking Company of Battle Mountain of negligence contributing to the fatal collision about 70 miles east of Reno. But Dickerson's lawsuit filed in Washoe District Court in Reno is the first to also name Amtrak as a plaintiff. She says she was trying to lead passengers out of the burning train but had to double back through a smoky car past dead victims and jump out a window after their initial escape route was blocked by a locked door.
