We're on the front end of a nice warm-up that will crest over the weekend, bringing 80-degree temperatures to the beaches and similar weather inland. We'll also see the normally warmer temperatures inland flip-flop with the beaches as coastal regions watch the mercury meet and surpass temperatures in areas like Cuyama and California Valley.
Santa Ana winds will be with us over the next couple of days, though, so you'll want to keep a firm grip on the steering wheel if you're traveling the inland valleys and mountains. High profile vehicles will certainly get pushed around as part of that.
We're also looking at increasing fire dangers as that hot inland air warms us up and dries out the vegetation. Fire officials ask that we all use extreme care operating machinery in grassy areas, or in back country areas with dry brush.
