Congratulations to Jodi Waples! Jodi came in first place last night at Farm Supply's Great Pumpkin Contest - her pumpkin weighed in at 605 lbs! Wow!
Rick Tibben was ALMOST there, with 601 lbs and Randy Jokela & Mike Hoffman came in third place last night with their monster pumpkin weighing a healthy 568 lbs.
I have great admiration for these master pumpkin growers. I can now truly appreciate the hard work, dedication, patience and watchful eye you must have to make it this far - and mine only reached 60 or so pounds!
It was a great turnout last night at Mission Plaza in downtown San Luis Obispo. It was great fun for kids and adults alike, we had many visitors standing there simply amazed at these behemoth pumpkins.
