Animal services looking to place hardworking feral cats

Santa Barbara County Animal Services is looking for homes for feral cats currently being housed in three local animal shelters. Feral cats are not socialized and are not adaptable to the normal household environment, however they can provide rodent control for people with a barn or shelter for the cats.

All cats are spayed or neutered and up to date on their vaccines. Animal services will provide a yard check and instructions on how to acclimate the cats to their new homes.

Animal services says although feral cats are not accustomed to human contact, they can build a bond with the people who care for them. Caretakers must be willing to feed the cats everyday and provide them with basic needs, including protection from the elements and predators.

Feral cats don't do well confined in a shelter setting and need to be relocated as soon as possible.
