Dozens of families turned out for the annual Father's Day Fiesta at Saint Joseph's Church in Nipomo.
The parish holds the event every year and it has been going strong for more than 40 years.
There were games for the kids, arts and crafts for the adults and of course, plenty of delicious barbeque.
The fiesta raises money for church events throughout the year, but organizers say that's not the only reason they keep the tradition going.
"Although the main thing would be making money, I think the biggest thing is that everybody can come out, have a good time, enjoy themselves, go home full, stuffed with chicken dinner," said Daniel Beck, the event organizer.
All members of the public, not just parishioners, were invited to come and celebrate dad. After the barbeque attendees were treated to a talent show and a 50/50 raffle.
