Talking about teen sex can be hard for parents, and now research suggests pediatricians have a hard time with it too.
Researchers studied more than 250 teens and nearly 50 doctors. They found a third of patients avoided talking about sex during their annual checkup.
The remaining two-thirds of patients did talk about their sex life with their doctor, but it was very brief.
Experts say this should change because annual well-checks are a great time to talk to teens about safe sex and preventing unwanted pregnancies.
