WASHINGTON (AP) - A month after his re-election, President Barack Obama has his highest approval ratings since the killing of terror leader Osama bin Laden. An Associated Press-GfK poll also finds that more Americans say the nation is heading in the right direction now than at any time since the start of Obama's first term.

Obama's approval rating stands at 57 percent, the highest since May 2011, when Navy SEALs killed bin Laden, and up 5 percentage points from before the election. Forty-two percent say the country is on the right track, and a majority think it's likely Obama will improve the economy.

Americans are divided on what kind of president Obama has been, with 37 percent saying he's been above average or outstanding and 36 percent saying below average or poor.
