Five boy's soccer teams from San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties return to action on Wednesday in second round CIF playoff games. Three of the squads will play home games. All five games start at 3 pm.
PAC-7 champion Arroyo Grande welcomes in Carpinteria in a Division 5 contest. The Eagles are 15-5-4 and beat Santiago 4-0 in the first round. Morgan Wack scored twice in the opening round win, while Christian Chora added another score. Carpinteria beat El Monte 3-0 in the first round and is riding a 7 game winning streak. The Warriors are led by Ismael Santiago, who has 24 goals.
PAC-7 runner-up Paso Robles plays at Los Amigos. The Bearcats are 16-6-2 and beat Oak Park 3-1 in the first round Angel Guevara is Paso's leading scorer with 11 goals. The Lobos beat Arroyo Valley 5-1 to set up the showdown.
Santa Maria will host Oxnard in a Division 3 game. The Saints are 12-4-3 and beat West Ranch 1-0 in the first round. Oxnard is 11-8-4 and upset the #1 seed Knight 4-2 in the first round.
Cabrillo welcomes in Hueneme. The Conquistadores are 17-6-4 and beat Norte Vista 4-2 in the first round. Sean Greathead is Cabrillo's leading scorer with 29 goals, while Miguel Gomez has added 15 goals and 18 assists. Hueneme won the Pacific View League and comes in 14-1-4 after a first round victory over Eastside.
Coast Union looks to continue its magical season at Marshall in Pasadena. The Broncos are 16-1-1 and beat Banning 3-1 in the first round for the program's first-ever playoff victory. Coast's leading scorer are Victor Casas (22 goals) and Luis Dealba (19 goals). Marshall is a wildcard team that upset Divison 6's #2 seed Arrowhead Christian 3-2 in overtime. The winners advance to Friday's quarterfinals.
