They were playing in pink for a purpose on Wednesday night at St.Joseph High.
Rivals Righetti and St.Joseph High girl's volleyball teams united to spike cancer in the second annual Together for a Cure event. The freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams from each school square off.
Players wore special t-shirts all in an effort to help raise awareness and cure breast cancer.
Organizers hoped to raise $5,000 for the Marian Breast Care Program through ticket, raffle and t-shirt sales.
Cancer survivors, who received free admission, said the event was priceless. "We're all here to help make it a better place and be able to find a cure for this problem," said breast cancer survivor Kimmy Mano. "It's great for these girls to give their support at such a young age."
St.Joe won the freshman and varsity matches, while Righetti won the JV battle.
