The arraignment for Rebecca Cristal Sandoval, the Lompoc woman charged with murder following last month's deadly crash on Highway 246, has been continued again.
Charges against Sandoval include murder, felony gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and felony driving under the influence of drugs causing bodily injury following the December 19 crash near the Chumash Casino that killed Linda Wall, 68, a retired teacher from Santa Ynez Valley Union High School.
Outside court, David Ogren, Sandoval's lawyer, said, "Ms. Sandoval is devastated by what's happened. She feels terrible for the victims here and their families. She told the first officer she talked to, I think she wanted to apologize to them and, you know, it's devastating for all kinds of lives, but we hope to work this to a resolution without putting the families through trial and all that."
Sandoval is expected back in court on February 7.
