The man accused of driving drunk and causing a deadly accident will not be arraigned until February. Cody Stutts, 21, appeared in a Santa Maria courtroom for arraignment Friday morning, but the judge continued his arraignment until next month.

Stutts faces several felony counts, including gross vehicular manslaughter, in connection with the deadly New Year's Day crash in Orcutt.

California Highway Patrol officers say 21-year-old Damian Coles and 22-year-old Nathan Beebe were passengers in Stutts' car that night. Officers say Stutts was driving drunk and speeding before he crashed. Coles died and Beebe was sent to the hospital with major injuries.
