A man already in Santa Barbara County Jail on unrelated charges has been re-arrested in connection with a cold case homicide in Lompoc.
Michael Jason Spradling, 25, of Lompoc was shot to death back in June 2007.
Recently, the Lompoc Police Department reopened the cold case after additional witnesses were identified.
The district attorney's office issued an arrest warrant for Charles Alonzo Owens, 25, which was served Thursday morning. Officers say Owens is a parolee and is currently in jail. He is being charged with homicide and participation in a criminal street gang.
Officers say they hope the news brings family of Spradling some closure.
