Arrest made in Nipomo stabbing

San Luis Obispo Sheriff's deputies say, with the help of the Santa Maria Police Department, they've tracked down the suspect of a stabbing that happened in Nipomo Thursday morning.

Investigators say Victor Ramirez was arrested Tuesday after an apparent domestic violence dispute in Santa Maria. Police officers there detained Ramirez until Sheriff's deputies could arrest him for the stabbing incident.

Deputies say Ramirez and the stabbing victim got into some sort of argument Thursday morning, and Ramirez stabbed the man once in the chest. The victim drove himself to the Carl's Jr. restaurant on W. Tefft St. in Nipomo to call 911. The victim was taken to Marian Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Ramirez was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
