The Department of Homeland Security says five people were detained Sunday in connection to a Panga Boat found at Tajiguas Beach in Santa Barbara County
Investigators say three Mexican nationals were charged federally for allegedly unloading bales of Marijuana from the boat. The fourth person was released, and the fifth person was held on immigration violations. The boat was spotted at 2:30 a.m.
California State Parks, The Department of Fish and Game, Border Patrol, California Highway Patrol, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office, and Homeland Security were on scene.
The three people charged in connection to unloading the boat will be charged Monday or Tuesday. 3,393 pounds of Marijuana were recovered at the scene.
