The Arroyo Grande boys and girls track and field teams won the SLO County Track and Field Championships on Saturday at Cuesta College. The 39th annual event featured nine teams from San Luis Obispo County.
The Arroyo Grande girls scored 215.5 points followed by San Luis Obispo with 94 points and Nipomo with 75.5 points. The Eagles swept the outstanding performers on the girls side. Madison Jacobs was named most outstanding field performer after winning the discus and the shot put. Christine Moreno was the most outstanding track performer. Moreno won the 400m and was on the winning 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams.
The Arroyo Grande boys scored 114 points followed by Paso Robles with 93.5 and San Luis Obispo with 89. Arroyo Grande's Elijah Holt was named most outstanding track performer with wins in the 110m hurdles, the 100m and the 4x100 relay. He set a meet record with a time of 14.56 in the 110m hurdles.
San Luis Obispo's Conner Hall was named most outstanding field performer after winning the pole vault competition, finishing third in the long jump and third in the discus. Hall was also third in the 110m hurdles. He set a meet record by clearing 15 feet, 7 inches in pole vault.
Also competing at the SLO County Meet were Atascadero, Mission Prep, Morro Bay, Templeton and Coastal Christian.
