Sunday was the big day for the Village of Arroyo Grande, thousands of people showed up to celebrate the city's Centennial.
Many events were happening all around the city including a block party, parade and fireworks. They also sealed up the time capsule, which will be opened on the city's 200th birthday. A Blackberry, firefighter and police officer uniforms, and other technology was included in the capsule.
There was a bit of drama Saturday when organizers noticed their Centennial banner went missing after the gala ball.
"One of our local, very good residents saw it and thought they were just going to throw it away and he asked a few people about it, and nobody knew if they were going to use it and so he goes well I'll take it," said Iris Swisher, a member of the Steering Committee.
The Centennial fun does not end Sunday, as the Summer Historical Theater will be putting on events through August.
