The CIF Central Coast Division golf tournament was held at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Nipomo on Monday. The event was one of seven divisionals throughout Southern California. A top three team finish was needed to advance to the CIF Southern Section team final. Santa Barbara, Arroyo Grande and Dos Pueblos are the teams that qualified from the Central Coast Division.
Santa Barbara won with a team score of 378 followed by Arroyo Grande at 381 and Dos Pueblos at 382. Junior, Mitch Martin paced the Eagles with a round of 73. Martin was one over par and two shots back of the individual winner. Martin started his round with a double bogey and triple bogey.
Pac-7 champion Righetti was far off the pace with a score of 409. Atascadero finished with a team score of 405. San Luis Obispo shot 412 and Santa Ynez scored a 413.
Individual performances weren't relevant but San Marcos senior Thayer White had the best round, carding a one-under 71.
The CIF Southern Section Team Championship is Thursday at Rancho San Marcos in Santa Barbara.
