Atascadero police officers recover thousands of dollars worth of property they say was stolen from four Central Coast cities within the last month.
Officers say they were investigating two people at a home in the 9400 blk. of Jornada Ln. in Atascadero last Thursday. There, they say they determined one of the men, 32-year-old Arroyo Grande resident Aaron Kirby, was in possession of stolen property, an illegal Billy club, an illegal knife and drug paraphernalia.
Kirby was then booked into the San Luis Obispo county jail, with bail set at $500,000.
As officers continued their investigation, they say they touched base with other local police departments and learned the hundreds of stolen items were from residential burglaries in Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles and Atascadero that were reported in the past month. The items are valued at $23,000.
The Atascadero police department says most of the items have been returned to their owners, but there are still a lot of things that need to be claimed. They include digital cameras, video cameras, a large coin collection, a baseball card collection and high-end headphones.
If you believe any of those items belong to you, you're asked to contact Detective Pflum at (805) 470-3226.
