Former Cal Poly football player Asa Jackson was one of four Baltimore Ravens players to be placed on the inactive list on Super Bowl Sunday. The rookie watched from the sideline as his team beat San Francisco, 34-31 to win Super Bowl 47.
Jackson last played for the Ravens in their AFC Division round win at Denver. He missed the AFC Championship game because of a thigh injury. The cornerback practiced with the team leading up to the Super Bowl but was not one of 45 players activated for the game.
Jackson played in three games on special teams for Baltimore this season, he made one tackle. The 23 year old was suspended for four games during the regular season after violating the league's performance enhancing drug policy.
Jackson was a four year starter at cornerback for the Mustangs. He was selected in the fifth round of the NFL draft. Despite not playing Jackson will get a Super Bowl ring.
