Dear Terri,

Sorry for the delay in getting this answer to you. We recommend:

  • 1 quart peroxide
  • ¼ cup baking soda
  • 2 tablespoons liquid dishwashing soap (like Dawn)

Mix together (may need a bigger batch for a bigger dog) and apply all over. Rinse well after about 10 minutes. You may need to reapply daily and rinse for a few days.

A few things to note:

  1. Bella will smell better when she is dry - each time you wash her again the smell will worsen for as long as she is wet.
  2. This mixture will discolor darker hair - the main ingredient is peroxide. It can also discolor towels, carpet, etc.
  3. Do not try to store this mixture - it works best when fresh and will actually explode if you put it in a closed container!

I hope both you and Bella are feeling (and smelling) better soon!
