Central Coast residents have the chance to put on some ice skates in Atascadero this weekend.

Back in December, an artificial ice skating rink was supposed to be set up for the city's Winter Wonderland Festival. But, that got rained out. Now, the rink is back in town this weekend for all to enjoy.

The "cool" thing is, the rink actually has a synthetic surface that doesn't require generators because it doesn't need to be kept cold, making it more environmentally-friendly.

The rink will be open Saturday from 12:00 to 8:00p.m. and Sunday from 11:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. at the Sunken Gardens. It costs $6.00 a person for a 30 minute skate session, and that includes skates.
