Atascadero Fire Department investigating cause of shed fire

Firefighters are investigating a shed fire in Atascadero.

The fire broke out around 5:40 p.m. Friday in the 7300 block of Valle Avenue.

Firefighters with Atascadero Fire Department arrived at the scene and found a shed on fire. They say the fire had also spread to a detached two car garage and another shed nearby.

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes. They say the shed where the fire started was destroyed, and the garage had major damage to one of its walls. Firefighters were able to save a car that was parked in the garage. They estimate over $20,000 worth of damages.

No one was injured during the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Editor's Note: A previous version of this story stated there was $60,000 worth of damages. After further investigation, the Atascadero City Fire Department changed that estimate to just over $20,000.
