The deadline to register for healthcare under the Affordable Care Act is this Monday, and people in Atascadero are signing up before it's too late.
Members of the SEIU-United Healthcare Workers West union volunteered at the Atascadero Library on Saturday to host a healthcare enrollment fair.
More than 50 people came to the library to learn about the different plans and sign up.
It was part of the union's statewide effort to get people enrolled. They had 23 events this week across California, resulting in more than 75,000 people signing up.
"We want to make sure that we can get as many members signed up and enrolled so they can have health coverage for themselves as well as their family members," union shop steward Christine Zanchuck said.
After the March 31 deadline, the next enrollment period begins in October.
