Atascadero softball remains unbeaten in League with win at Paso Robles

The Atascadero softball team scored early and held on late to win at Paso Robles, 6-5. The win completes a season sweep of the Bearcats while improving the Greyhounds to 8-0 in the Pac-7 and 21-3 overall. The Bearcats drop to 5-4, 11-11.

Atascadero scored four runs in the first inning and one more each in the second and fourth to take a 6-0 lead. Paso Robles answered with two runs in the fourth and single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh. The Bearcats run in the seventh was provided by a solo home run by sophomore Dakota Rodriguez.

Sally Bowles earned her league leading 13th win of the season. The sophomore pitched a complete game, only three of the runs she allowed were earned. Her ERA rises to 1.60.

Offensively the Greyhounds were led by senior Alese Dominguez who went 4-4 with 2-RBI. Sophomore Kaila Herzig was 2-4 with 2-RBI.

Atascadero hosts Arroyo Grande on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. Paso Robles plays at San Luis Obispo on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
