There are lots of fun ways to celebrate Halloween on the Central Coast. This year the Charles Paddock Zoo in Atascadero is looking to add to the celebration.

"Zoo Boo" Saturday will feature a kids theme Halloween celebration for the family.

Visitors are encouraged to bring a decorated vegetable for the carving contest. Beware, however, even the animals like to join in on the pumpkin fun.

"The meercats had some crickets in their (pumpkins), there were special fruit treats for the spider monkeys, same for the lemurs," Alan Baker, Director of the Charles Paddock Zoo said. "So it's their favorite foods and treats and we hide them to kind of give them a chance to search for them and find them."

Of course it wouldn't be Halloween with out some treats, so each child will be given a free bag of candy.
