Aaron Attaway went 4 for 5 with 4 RBI to back Cal Poly's Bryan Granger in the San Luis Obispo Blues' 8-2 victory over the Long Beach Legends on Sunday afternoon. The Blues, who were blanked 6-0 by Long Beach on Saturday, collected 14 hits to improve to 20-5 overall. The Legends dropped to 20-7.
The Legends scored once in the top of the first against Granger. The Blues tied it with one in the first and took the lead for good with two runs in the second and another in the third.
Attaway, a junior from Western Carolina, singled home Cuesta infielder Taylor Anderson in the second, third and eighth innings.
Granger earned the victory with 5 solid innings. He allowed 1 run on just 4 hits. He walked 3 and struck out 5.
The victory improved the Blues' record to 15-1 at home as they head out for a mini two-game road trip that opens Monday at the home of the Santa Paula Halos.
