An internationally recognized author was in San Luis Obispo Monday night to talk about an overlooked relationship -- the one we all have with the city in which we live.

Author Peter Kageyama wrote "For the Love of Cities," a book about the emotional connections people have with their home towns.

He showed examples of lovable cities and explained how to motivate emotionally-engaged community members to do positive things for the city.

"What we're trying to do here tonight is actually bring in some younger voices, new voices, maybe people who haven't been here as long, and help them realize maybe they are part of the solution of making a better, more interesting, more lovable SLO," said Kageyama.
