The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in Santa Barbara has raised nearly $40 million for cancer research in the last 10 years, and organizers are at it again.
The 11th annual walk kicked off Saturday morning.
Thousands of people are signed up to walk nearly 40 miles in two days.
Walkers had to raise at least $1800 to participate, and the money goes to local, regional, and national breast cancer organizations that fund care and research.
The race ends Sunday at Carpinteria State Beach. Closing ceremonies start at 2:15 p.m.
