Award winning storyteller, Diane Ferlatte will perform on May 13 at the Santa Maria Public Library.
An African-American storyteller from Oakland, California, Ferlatte has an extensive repertoire which includes fables, folktales, legends, ghost tales, historical tales and personal stories.
Her first program, designed for students ages 14 and above, will be in Shepard Hall at 4:00p.m. A children's program in the Altrusa Theater will follow at 7:00, for ages 5 and up. Free tickets are required for admission. Tickets are available in the Children's Room.
