The community came together Saturday to help the YMCA of San Luis Obispo County.
A special barbecue fundraiser was held in Arroyo Grande for the Fairgrove Elementary School YMCA Afterschool Program.
For just $10, you could buy a tri-tip sandwich, chips, and a drink.
All proceeds will help the program purchase supplies for enrichment activities.
The event was put on as part of a Senior Project.
"I worked at the YMCA prior to moving to Fresno. I'm finishing at Fresno State now. So I came and volunteered at the YMCA and did this fundraiser for them, for the Fairgrove Elementary School one," said Cherisa Headrick, the Event Coordinator.
Fairgrove Elementary School is part of the Lucia Mar School District.
The YMCA provides programs ranging from science and technology to jump rope and sewing.
