It has been almost eleven years since America was attacked on September 11, and Sunday, people were making sure to remember that day and to thank our military.

The 11th annual American Thunder Barbecue took place at Mitchell Park in San Luis Obispo on Sunday afternoon.

The event was open to everyone and included speakers, music, and a lot of appreciation.

Organizers say they want to remember, support, and honor all of our service men and women.

People were asked to bring needed items that will be sent to U.S. troops all over the world.
