Some local children are stepping up to the plate to help support the fight against hunger.
Crushers Baseball is hosting a Homeruns 4 Hunger baseball camp at Sherwood Park in Paso Robles on Sunday.
There is no fee for the camp, but participants are asked to bring a frozen turkey or non-perishable food for Loaves and Fishes.
Coaches include both current and retired major league baseball players, scouts, and even some team members from Cal Poly.
The camp for children ages 5 to 8 will be held at the park from 10 a.m. to noon, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for children ages 9 to 15.
