A wandering bear cub was the talk of the town in Plattsburgh, New York Thursday.
The cub was first seen near Olivetti Street around 10:30 a.m. and later seen again on the train tracks near the Plattsburgh Boat Basin.
Later in the day the cub was seen swimming in Lake Champlain.
City police spent hours trying to guide the cub back to the wilderness.
It's estimated the cub is between 6 and 8 months old.
The mother has not been found.
