FRESNO, Calif. (AP) - Fresno's beloved giraffe Gamba is dead.

The 15-year-old reticulated giraffe died on Tuesday at the Fresno Chaffee Zoo.

Zoo director Scott Barton says Gamba was in declining health the past two weeks and had been vomiting. The cause of death hasn't been determined.

The Fresno Bee (http://bit.ly/15f0N2F ) says the male giraffe was a popular attraction at the zoo.

The zoo now has five giraffes, including Gamba's 19-year-old father and his half-sisters.
