A little more than a week after Los Osos resident Bradley Cummins was hit by a car in Morro Bay while riding his bike, his friends are coming together to offer their support.
A barbecue benefit is being planned for Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Los Osos Ralph's from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A beneficiary account has also been set up for Cummins.
Donations can be made at any Rabobank branch.
On Labor Day, Cummins, 60, was riding on southbound Highway 1 with Alan Stephens, 65, both from Los Osos, when they were hit by a car driven by Jessica Goddard, 29, from Cayucos, just south of the Main Street overpass.
Cummins suffered major injuries. Stephens died at the scene.
Goddard has pleaded guilty to the charges against her.
She is scheduled to be sentenced next month.
