Benefit concert held for Veterans Express in Morro Bay

A local organization that helps transport vets to and from medical appointments got some financial support Sunday.

A benefit concert was held for Veterans Express at the Highway 41 Antique Emporium Garden in Morro Bay.

SLO Ambassador Bentley Murdock even made a special appearance at the event, and the Soul Purpose Band provided live entertainment.

Veterans Express almost closed three years ago, but thanks to donations from the community, they were able to continue operating.

"The way we look at it, they served us, the least we can do is serve them and support the shuttles so they can get their medical treatment," said Jim Davis, the Event Director.
