KSBY recently shared the story of a Central Coast support group for parents who have lost a child.
One of their projects is a childrens' memorial garden at the Santa Maria Cemetery.
The Angel of Hope Memorial provides a peaceful place for grieving parents.
On Sunday, there will be a benefit barbecue to raise money for the memorial which includes bricks with the names of the deceased children on them.
" Grief is something that by attempting to avoid it, you are only putting it off. We are trying to assist families in their grief process," said Calvary Chapel Pastor Paul Berry.
The barbecue will be held Sunday at the Calvary Chapel at 2620 Santa Maria Way in Santa Maria from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Tickets are ten dollars for the tri-tip dinner.
