Atascadero High's Robbie Berwick and Righetti High's Cameron Walker received All-State basketball honors late Monday night from Cal-Hi Sports. The popular prep source operated by ESPNHS started to unveil its 34th annual All-State Boys Basketball Teams with the top underclassmen of the 2011-12 season.
Berwick was named to the All-State Sophomore Second Team. The 6-4 Berwick guided Atascadero to the CIF quarterfinals and an 18-10 overall record. The point guard led the Greyhounds by averaging 17.5 points per game. He added 5 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 4 assists per game.
Walker earned a spot on the All-State Freshman First Team. The 6-6 forward is one of the most highly touted freshmen on the Central Coast in recent memory. Walker was a key member of the Warriors' historic playoff run that included the program's first-ever trip to a CIF championship game and State Tournament. The Warriors finished 25-6.
Cal-Hi Sports will release more All-State boys and girls teams over the coming days.
