A Santa Maria woman says she was the victim of a foreclosure scam and the woman she claims is responsible was in court last week. The Santa Barbara County District Attorney has filed a multi-count felony complaint against Irma Diaz for violating foreclosure laws.
They said Diaz obtained Quit Claims and Power of Attorney from victims whose homes were in or nearing default. The D.A. also said Diaz's company advertised on Spanish radio and appears to have targeted primarily the Hispanic community.
