Last Saturday the Muscular Dystrophy Association held a century bike ride that started and ended in Avila Beach to raise funds to fight ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

There were 186 individuals register for the ride, which was a record. The association raised over $40,000.

Proceeds from the ride will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association's ALS Division, the world's leader in ALS research and patient services for those living with the disease.
