A warning to drivers heading through Santa Maria: a paving project begins on Black Rd. Tuesday, causing some slight delays.

The construction will happen on Black Rd. beginning about 2,000 ft. south of the intersection with Main St., and continuing to the railroad tracks about 1,200 ft. south of Stowell Rd.

The first phase of the project includes a repair of damaged asphalt. The full overlay of Black Rd. is scheduled to happen on Friday, May 28th. The roadway will remain open to traffic throughout the construction time, but there will be lane closures. Flaggers will be around to direct drivers.
