The U.S. Navy's flight demonstration team, the Blue Angels, was back in the air Saturday afternoon to kick off their 2014 air show season.
The Blue Angels were grounded for much of last year because of forced spending cuts.
The squadron's distinctive blue and gold fighter jets wowed the crowd Saturday as they performed precision aerobatics over the Naval Air Facility in El Centro, California.
The Blue Angels are scheduled to appear at more than 30 air shows and other events around the U.S. this year.
They'll be at the Los Angeles County Air Show next week.
