The San Luis Obispo Blues won a sixth straight game on Friday night. The Blues beat the Santa Maria Valley Packers, 10-3 at Sinsheimer Park in San Luis Obispo. The game was the second for both teams at the San Luis Obispo Tournament which is being run in conjunction with the Santa Barbara Tournament. The Blues are now 2-0 at the tournament, a win against Menlo Park on Saturday would clinch the bracket and earn the Blues a game against the Santa Barbara champion on Monday. The winner of the championship will earn an automatic bid to the NBC World Series in Whichita, Kansas.
Will Cox earned the win for the Blues on Friday night with six innings of work. He allowed two runs (one earned) and seven hits while striking out six. Offensively the Blues had 11 hits and walked seven times. San Luis Obispo never trailed after scoring three runs in the third inning.
The Blues are now 21-10 on the season, they will play Menlo Park on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
