A two-run single by Austin Christensen in the tenth inning gave the San Luis Obispo Blues a 5-3 come-from-behind win over the Orange County Pioneers on Wednesday night.
Christensen's hit came with two outs in the tenth inning and scored Daniel Mengden and Bryan Peters.
The Blues trailed 3-1 into the eighth inning before scoring two runs on groundouts.
The first place Blues improved to 7-4 overall and 5-2 in California Collegiate League play. The Pioneers dropped to 2-5 in league and 3-6 overall.
Parker Ray earned the win with an erratic 2 1/3 innings of relief. He allowed no runs, one hit, but walked 5 and struck out 5 Pioneers. Mengden struck out the final two batters of the game to earn the save and preserve the win. Dylan Munger started for the Blues and allowed one unearned run and two hits in 5 innings of work.
The Blues go for the three-game sweep over the Pioneers at 1pm on Thursday. They return home to open a series against Top Speed on Friday at 6pm.
