On Tuesday, perfectgame.org released it's Summer Collegiate Baseball rankings and the San Luis Obispo Blues were ranked 5th in the country. The Blues weren't able to back up the ranking on Tuesday night in San Luis Obispo as they lost 8-4 to last place Orange County.
The Pioneers were ahead 3-0 in the fifth when Darrell Miller connected on a three run homer to dead center to make it 6-0. The Blues weren't able to get close than three from there, losing for just the third time in their last 16 games.
The loss drops San Luis Obispo to 16-7 overall, 11-5 in the California Collegiate League. The Blues remain in first place in the standings. Second place Santa Barbara is ranked 20th in the country by perfectgame.org.
Tuesday's game was the Blues first of eight straight home games for the Blues. They will host Orange County again on Wednesday at 6:00 pm.
