Blues sweep doubleheader in Whittier

The San Luis Obispo Blues baseball team completed a three game series sweep in Whittier against the Southern California Catch on Tuesday. The Blues improved their overall record to 14-1 and 3-1 in California Collegiate League play.

The Blues opened the series with a 7-2 victory on Monday. Travis Evans pitched five innings for the Blues in the win, allowing one run on five hits and striking out six. Andrew Lee hit 3 for 4 with a double and three RBI.

On Tuesday the Blues won their first game 3-0. Connor O'Hare was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double for the Blues, while teammate Jordan Smith pitched five innings in the win.

Two Blues hit home runs as the team won the final game of the series 9-4. Michael Pritchard was 2 for 4 with a homerun and three RBI and Leo Vargas had a solo homer.

Blake Allemand was 3 for 5 with a double and two RBI for the Blues. Corey Ray pitched four innings in the win.

The Blues have six games left in their nine game road trip. They play Thursday and Friday against the Conejo Oaks.
