Landon Brown hit a go-ahead three-pointer and went a perfect 7 for 7 at the free throw line down the stretch to lead the Righetti boys basketball team to a thrilling 66-63 win at cross the street rival St. Joseph on Monday night in a Pac 7 League battle of unbeatens.
The Warriors improved to 3-0 in league play, while the Knights, who were coming off their third-straight Vegas Invitational title, dropped to 1-1 in league.
Brown finished with a game-high 21 points, while Cameron Walker scored 14 second half points to finish with 18 for the game. Frankie Platero finished with with 12 points and Marcus McMorris chipped in 10.
Case Bruton led the Knights with 17 points and Isaac Murillo finished with 14. Keith Datu scored all ten of his points in the third quarter for St. Joseph.
The Knights led 16-11 after the first quarter and 34-31 at the half. After a few ties in the third quarter, St. Joseph held a 48-46 advantage after three quarters.
St. Joseph will look to rebound on Wednesday against Pioneer Valley.
