Brush fire breaks out in Santa Maria

A brush fire broke out just before 1:30 Thursday afternoon in the 2400 block of Tepusquet road. It burned 15 to 20 acres and is 70% contained.
200 fire fighters fought the blaze from the ground and the air.
A fire fighter was taken to the hospital with second degree burns on his leg.
It may have been started by the exhaust from a tractor working in a vineyard but the cause is under investigation. Reverse 9-1-1 calls were made to residents in the area but no one was evacuated.
