LOS ANGELES (AP) Firefighters have made good progress against a brush fire that burned about five acres near the border of Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

Los Angeles County Fire spokeswoman Melanie Flores says the fire broke out shortly after 3 p.m. Thursday just north of State Route 118 near Rocky Peak Road and quickly spread north. She says it was 50 percent contained by 6:30 p.m.

Flores says no structures were threatened and no evacuations were ordered.

No injuries were reported.
